Monday: Memorial Day! We headed into Boulder on the bus (Brewer’s first public transportation experience) for the duck race and other fun festivities. We unfortunately experienced gale force winds all day, which made it a bit difficult to enjoy Pearl Street. Around 4:00 it was time for the duck race and Jordan sponsored three ducks in honor of our little family earlier in the week. We set up a spot by the creek and watched the cute little duckies (rubber duckies) as they reached the finish line. We didn’t win anything but all the proceeds went to a good cause and that’s really what it is all about.

I think the highlight of the day for Brewer was riding on the Bus. He loves large trucks and buses, especially touching the huge tires.

Tuesday: It was off to work with me and Jordan and Brewer stayed at home with a cold. Seems like Brewer is catching a cold every other week since he’s been at school.

Wednesday: Brewer was feeling better and we were off to his first swim lesson. I can tell he’s a little fish, like his Mama, already! We sang songs, dipped our faces in the water, and learned to blow bubbles.

Didn’t have a chance to snap a pic though…bummer. I’ll get one next time.

Thursday: Off to work and Brewer was back in school. I’ve been working on a fun interactive DVD and CD set at work. You can view them in my portfolio here.

Friday: It’s finally Friday and we were suppose to be heading to our second swim lesson, but Brewer fell asleep on the floor playing. Plans change fast around here. I guess we are doing an early nap and will have to hit up the pool later today.

Plans for the weekend: I think we are staying pretty low-key this weekend, since everyone is fighting off the last bit of a nasty cold. We’ll probably take advantage of the pool and get some landscaping done around the house. I started growing a tomato plant, potatoes, mint and two bins of a variety of lettuce. So far, so good :)

Brewer and I traveled back from Arizona today to the bitter cold and snow of Colorado. It’s good to be home, but I can still feel the warmth of the sun from AZ. It was a wonderful trip filled with good food, good wine and good family (some that Brewer met for the first time:) He is such a great little traveler! I really couldn’t ask for a better baby.

Times like these I feel so fortunate to be a SAHM. When the opportunity to travel and meet up with family comes up I can pack up my sweet little monkey and go! I enjoy every part of the process from the anxiety of counting down the days to leave to coming home to the open arms of my husband. Absence does make the heart grow strong and I love seeing Brewer sweet face light up when he catches eyes with his Daddy. Those two have been silly all evening, like catching up with a best friend you haven’t talk to in years.

Now back to our routine of laundry, play dates, and silliness.

Okay…sorry for the late post with the Thanksgiving photos. We have been busy to say the least and Jordan and I are recovering from a 24 hour flu. Yes, that’s right…we had the flu at the same time (of course).

Anyway, back to topic at hand. We had Thanksgiving at the beach this year. A tradition my side of the family has been doing since I can remember. The weather cooperated this year and allowed for fun photos of Brewer on the beach, boccie ball, and long walks. The water was ice cold but he didn’t seem to mind and splashed around for a bit. Brewer enjoyed hanging out with his cousins and even learned to stand up in his crib. Believe it or not, I actually had some time to visit with my sisters without baby interruptions.

So I would have to say this year I am really thankful for the ocean, sand, sun, and family to share it with.

The whole fam. geekin out on Sunday afternoon!
