Guest post with Women on the Fence... →
The Knowledge That Saved Me From Molestation: This is the title of my guest post with Erica Diamond of Women on the Fence. Yes…it is a revealing post and some family may wonder why I chose to write about it.
Now that I am a mother, I believe in sharing and learning from scenarios like this one. At the same time it was some what therapeutic to get it out of my head and write down my thoughts...

Being that I’m a Southern girl at heart. I thought I would share my recipe for Southern Sweet Tea, the house wine of the South. I always get cravings for it around spring time and I love the jolt it gives me to get all my spring cleaning done ;)

Bring 1 cup water to boil
Dissolve 1 cup sugar into...

First Easter...
Brewer’s first Easter: Technically this was Brewer’s second Easter but since none of us where sleeping through the night and in a new parent daze during the first official Easter, we are calling this one his first.
We had grand plans of attending the neighborhood egg hunt and having a picnic lunch in the park but thanks to Colorado’s bi-polar spring personality, it...

Tuesday Tea...
In honor of our upcoming Earth Day, let’s talk about options for our tea leaves after we enjoyed consuming their nutrients.
We’ve known that coffee grinds are good for plants, how about tea leaves? Sure, throw those into the soil and let your plants reap the benefits. You can also through them into your compost pile to enrich your soil. They break down quickly and include the top...

To wake or not to wake...
“Bless his heart,” Brewer always wakes up in a good mood sick or not sick. He’s had this nasty on-going cold for about a week now and his schedule is totally thrown off.
So my dilemma is this…should I let him sleep as long as he wants in the morning when he’s sick? I usually wake him around 9:00 a.m to get our day going. This is the latest I can let him sleep and...

At Last
At last, my love has come along My lonely days are over And life is like a song…
Oh, yeah, at last The skies above are blue My heart was wrapped up in clovers The night I looked at you…
I found a dream that I could speak to A dream that I can call my own I found a thrill to rest my cheek to A thrill that I have never known…
Oh, yeah when you smile, you smile Oh, and...

Baby cakes continued: flavors...
(above flavors: green beans, blueberry, and yams)
I’ve posted in the past about making pancakes for Brewer. He absolutely devours them!!
I did a little experimenting and noticed that I can puree just about anything, and sneak it into the hot little cakes. This is a great way to add extra nutrition, especially if there is a specific item your child refuses to eat (for Brewer it is green...

Weekend full of snot...
When I think about this past weekend, I’ll I can remember is the amount of snot coming from Brewer’s nose. He started showing signs of a cold Thursday evening and by Friday it was full on snot fest. We had to postpone our trip to Colorado Springs to see his grand-parents and partake in fun at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo :(
Jordan was up with him almost the entire night Friday and I was...

Life lesson at the grocery store...
Sometimes life lessons come through odd circumstances.
Brewer and I were out and about today attending to some grocery shopping. Alas we were done and in line to check out. There was another mom ahead of me, one behind me and another to my left in line. Each of us had either an infant in a carrier, baby on hip or in the cart minding our own business and focusing on keeping the little ones happy....

My 29th Birthday...
It has taken me awhile to write about my birthday. For those of you that don’t know, my 29th birthday was on March 17th. Jordan surprised me by taking the day off, making me breakfast, and planning a day at the Denver Zoo. The weather was fabulous and Brewer got a lot of practice walking. My favorite part of the day was at breakfast when Jordan handed me a homemade card from him and...
