Baby muffins: carrot and banana...
I made these carrot muffins for Brewer yesterday. Let’s just say he loves them! They are also an excellent option for adults. One for you…one for me;)
Ingredients:
2 cups grated raw carrot (about 2-3 peeled carrots)
*I used rainbow carrots from our co-op bin. They made the muffins really colorful:)
1 large apple, peeled and grated
2 mashed bananas
2 cups all-purpose...

Amazon now streaming movies and TV...
This news couldn’t have come at a better time! Amazon now streams movies and TV shows for Amazon Prime members.
Jordan and I just canceled our cable. We didn’t feel like we used it enough to justify what we were paying for each month. However, with a price like $80 a year for commercial-free TV and movies…that I can justify. Not to mention all the other benefits we will...

New home for Izzy...
I am very sad to report that we have been looking for a new home for Izzy, our 5 year old miniature dachshund. She is currently in a new household with a sweet 12 year old girl that is no doubt doting over her every need, something I could no longer do:( After a week the family will decide whether Izzy is a good fit for their home.

Car seat research...
Brewer has grown out of his infant car seat! We need a new big boy seat so I’ve been researching convertible car seats for about a week now. So many decisions and options and laws and blah blah blah…
What’s the difference between and infant car seat and a convertible car seat?
The first stage is a rear-facing infant car seat, more than likely you will be bringing baby home...

Green Make-up...
I’ve been conscious about what I put on my skin ever since high school. There was one particular year that I had really bad break outs and I can still remember how stressful it was to try and hide all the blemishes. I wouldn’t call it acne and I never went on acutane or whatever else they prescribe to teenyboppers with this problem. Looking back on it, my skin was just trying to...

The Mother's Club...
This past weekend I attended a baby shower for a good friend of mine. I am so elated for her and her husband. It melts my heart to watch the way they look at each other when talking about meeting their son and reminds me that not that long ago, this was Jordan and I. Ahhh…these things always make want to have another baby.
Being part of the mother’s club is indescribable. I remember...

Valentines Day...
I have to say that I love Valentines Day! I don’t need super hype or a big expensive present. Just something with sugar in it will do:)
That’s all…just short and sweet!

Obsession 3: drinking out of grown-up cups...
Brewer is also obsessed with drinking out of whatever Mommy and Daddy are drinking out of…
On this particular evening Mommy was having a beer, 90 shilling to be exact:)
*Calm down…he didn’t actually drink any!

Let the planning begin...
Brewer’s first birthday is only one month away…sniffle. Once I get over the shock and wipe away the tears, I can start planning. I think I’ve been dreaming about throwing birthday parties for my own children for years. My parents always did a fabulous job of making each of there girls feel special on their big day and I plan to carry on that tradition.
Here are the plans thus...

Obsession 2: plants...
Brewer is also obsessed with digging in the household plants. This shouldn’t be to much of a problem since I don’t have much of a green thumb anyway…it’s only a matter of time.

Obsession 1: dog food...
We have to keep the dog food on the table when Brewer is running around playing. I let him eat a piece once, thinking it would be nasty and he would be over it. WRONG!

Spinach, Artichoke and Penne...
I’m on a roll with Rachel Ray recipes. They are so easy and always have yummy leftovers. The original recipe calls for chicken, but I left it out this time.
Okay…here we go!
Ingredients:
1 pound penne rigate or whole wheat or whole grain penne rigate
1 tablespoon EVOO – Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, finely chopped
3 to 4 large cloves garlic, finely...

Steps to a one income family...
Okay…I don’t claim to be Suze Orman but it seems as though I had some interest in my Jan. 31st post about the decision to become a SAHM, hence one-income family. I thought it might be helpful for me to write about some of the steps we took to make this dream a reality.
First, I made a household budget. I recommend this step for everyone, not just SAHM. You can download a template here...

My favorite leggings...
I wore leggings all the time before having Brewer, heck I even wore maternity leggings. Yet post birth, even after losing all the baby weight, I’m self-conscious about showing off my bod in leggings.Let’s be honest…things have just…well…shifted around.
Why am I sharing this? I found the best pair of leggings at Nordstrom’s (Zella ‘Live-In’ Leggins...
